The Year of the Wood Snake in 2025 represents a time of growth, creativity, and introspection
Wood Snakes are known for their resourcefulness and adaptability, with an affinity for growth, stability, and new beginnings. This year encourages people to focus on self-development, cultivate relationships, and pursue long-term goals with patience and diligence.
The characteristics of the Wood Snake align with personal transformation, wisdom, and steady advancement. For both individuals and communities, this year offers opportunities for careful planning, fostering relationships, and nurturing inner strength.
Now in my own words, these words are a bit cringy for sure, but what they mean resonates with me! Growing the Fundraising Nest and fostering relationships that can help everyone know more and be better is what we are all about!
If you have an abundant mindset (like me) then collaboration is about the collective idea ‘WE RISE, ‘WE ALL RISE’.
If you have a scarcity mindset then collaboration will feel like competition, your skills, your knowledge, your resources will feel like they are being diluted …which is crazy talk to me!
Together our sector can be so much more, there is so much brilliance to be shared, and I am excited to play a role in fostering the connections that want to make us ALL RISE!
For me, respectful collaboration is all about working together in a way that feels good for everyone involved.

Avoid doing or saying anything that could put someone in a bad light. If there’s an issue, we’ll address it privately and respectfully.

If you make a promise, keep it. And if something changes, communicate quickly and clearly.

No hidden agendas or creating false expectations. Make sure everything agreed on is clear and genuine.

Talk honestly, share ideas freely, and really listen to others. Different perspectives make us stronger.

We’re in this together. Celebrate the wins, big and small, and make sure everyone feels valued along the way.

When challenges come up (and they will), tackle them together with a positive, problem-solving mindset.

We all bring something unique to the table. Respect other’s expertise, time, and responsibilities.
